\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSome of the most emblematic species of Campo de Tabernas nest in cavities. Habitat transformation is leading to the elimination of many of these natural nesting sites. The placement of nest boxes increases their probability of permanence and even favours the extension of their distribution area. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nest box installation programmes go far beyond the mere placement of nest boxes, because they affect the distribution of birds in the territory, their inter- and intraspecific relationships, and even their reproductive success and survival. A GPS (Global Positioning System) device is a gadget that, fitted to a moving bird, shows its exact geographical location (longitude and latitude) in real time.
